YOUR DWARF HAMSTER INFORMATION

Supplies are a necessary essential to be able to take care of your pet properly no matter what type of pet you may own. Dwarf hamsters are no exception they are the same as owning any other pet; they will need certain supplies and dwar hamster information on how to take care of their needs and to make them comfortable and healthy in a nice home environment.

The dwarf hamster cage is probably the most important supply in taking care of your dwarf hamster. You can get a wire cage, plastic, or an aquarium tank and the dwarf hamster will do just fine in it. You will want to make sure that they will have plenty of room to run around in it. Just make sure if you are buying two dwarf hamsters together or when you buy your dwarf hamster and it is a baby that there will be plenty of room for them together or when it gets a little larger.

The substrate is the most important part of your dwarf hamster cage. There should be about 1 to 2 inches of substrate placed across the entire floor of the cage. If you build up about 5 or 6 inches on one side of the dwarf hamster cage or you could do it on both sides then the dwarf hamster will have an area to dig into or climb you will want to get as much dwarf  hamster  info as you can to find what makes the best bedding for your dwarf hamster.

Dwarf hamsters can also be trained to use a litter box most people do not know this about dwarf hamsters. You should watch for droppings found in one certain area of their cage and place your “hamster potty” there. You can buy a “hamster potty” in most pet stores. You should fill the potty with pellet newspaper cat litter or hay do not use clay or clumping cat litter as they could cause digestive or respiratory problems for your dwarf hamster.

An important part of a dwarf hamster’s world is their chew toys they need these to help with filing their teeth down. Hamsters teeth never stop growing and if they don’t have something to file them down with then they could starve because their teeth would grow so long they couldn’t close their mouth to eat. These chew toys come in different sizes, shapes, and colors and are mostly made of soft wood.

To keep your dwarf hamster healthy and hydrated you need to supply them with fresh water. Most dwarf hamsters learn to use water bottles early so if you hang one on the side of its cage this will be perfect. This keeps the substrate from getting in a bowl of water left in the cage or the bowl getting knocked over or spilled and keeps the cage neater. Make sure you keep an eye on the water bottle daily to make sure your dwarf hamster has fresh water and the bottle does not have a leak or crack in it.

You need to supply your dwarf hamster with a house in his cage so that  it will have a place to build its nest and a place to hide since they are such shy little creatures.

The supplies you will need for your pet dwarf hamster and the information you need to care for them are not hard to find most pet stores have what you need in supplies and the information can be found on the Internet. Keep the cage clean, water in the water bottle, feed them, supply them with chew toys, and a wheel to run in and this should keep your dwarf hamster healthy and satisfied. I hope this dwarf hamster information has been helpful.
